West Roxbury student helps the hungry enjoy Thanksgiving

Richard Canon of West Roxbury, a senior at Boston College High School, helped Boston Housing Authority employees feed poor families this past Thanksgiving.

Canon is a member of “The Model of Leadersip” class at the school which started a school-wide two-week food and money drive in early November.

On November 19 the young men held a collection ceremony in the BC High gym where all the money and food were gathered from the various homerooms.

Canon with the Models of Leadership class then went to the Boston Housing Authority and helped sort the food and learned about the BHA and section 8 housing.  The BHA employees and the 17 BC High students were the sole providers in feeding more than 300 families.

Boston College High School is a Jesuit, Catholic, college-preparatory school for young men founded in 1863.  The school enrolls approximately 1600 students from more than 100 communities in eastern Massachusetts. For more http://www.bchigh.edu
