5 Things: Free Pint of Beer Tonight; and Cancer Prevention Study

The Highland Hash Spring Fun Run Series is tonight starting at Blanchard's at 6:30 p.m.

 

  1. Starting today the American Cancer Society Cancer Prevention Study-3 is inviting men and women 30-65 (for three days), who have not had cancer (ex. squamous/basal cell skin cancer) to register for a CPS-3 appointment at the West Roxbury YMCA. To see the full schedule of Massachusetts enrollments and make an appointment, visit cancer.org/cps3NE or call 1-888-604-5888. 4-7 p.m.
  2. This morning, there will be a Business Networking Breakfast for BNI Rainmakers at the Sophia Snow Place. 7-8:30 a.m. Breakfast will be complimentary.
  3. The Highland Hash Spring Fun Run Series is tonight starting at Blanchard's at 6:30 p.m. At each Fun Run, participants will meet at the venue at the time listed, where they can choose from either a 2.5-mile or 5 mile route based on their skill level. Each route will end back at the venue, with light appetizers and locally brewed craft beer for 90 minutes following the run. Every runner gets a pint of the featured beer at the finish, compliments of West Roxbury Main Streets, and Parkway Running Club is generously providing the food at the event from Los Amigos. Donations will be accepted for the One Fund Boston, too.
  4. On Saturday is Roxbury Latin's 35th annual Giant Yard Sale. 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  5. The 2nd annual Taste of West Roxbury with 20+ restaurants is taking place next Thursday, May 9 at the Irish Social Club at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and can be bought here, or $30 at the door.
