Polling for 'Burger Wars' and Where is the Best Place to be on St. Patrick's Day in West Roxbury, ends today. The Shamrock Shootout is tomorrow!

  1. The Parkway Girls Softball League is holding tryouts/evaluations on Sunday, March 18 indoors at  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tryouts/evaluations are only for players who are playing in the U-10, U-13, or U-18 divisions for the first time; or moving up to a new division for 2012. Players unable to attend tryouts will be placed in a blind draft and drafted after players who attend the tryouts. U-10 players try out at 10 a.m.; U-13’s try out at noon; and U-18 players try out at 2:45 p.m. Try-outs are for evaluation purposes only. All players trying out will be placed on a team. There are no tryout/evaluations for the U-8 division.
    The registration deadline is Sunday, March 18. Registrations received after this date (including players returning from 2011) will be placed on a waiting list, and may not be guaranteed placement on a team. Any questions can be directed to the PGSL voicemail at 617-571-3457, or emailed to pgslregister@gmail.com.
  2. On Saturday is the Shamrock Shootout street hockey tournament is at Temple and Sherbrook streets. Sign-ups for children five and older starts at 9 a.m. 
  3. St. Patrick's Day is tomorrow, and we want to see where Patch readers choose to celebrate in West Roxbury. Be sure to vote in our Best of Patch Readers'. So where are you going on St. Patrick's Day?
