5 Things You Need to Know Today: September 5

Registration for the Roche Family Community Center programs is today at 5 p.m.; Also, there is a State Primary Election on Thursday.

  1. Today is registration for programming at the Roche Family Community Center at 5 p.m. Payment is taken at time of registration in form of only check or money order. Pick up a brochure at the Roche Center, Roche Bros., or the West Roxbury Branch Library. Also available online here at the BCYF's website
  2. Tomorrow is State Primary Election - read more here.
  3. Tryouts for the Parkway Travel Basketball teams, for both boys and girls, are today and ongoing until Sept. 14. Today its 5th and 6th grade girls tryouts starting at 5 p.m. You can register online by clicking the link to the registration form in the upper right corner of the website’s home page. Roche Family Community Center.
  4. Got Boston Public Schools questions about student assignment, transportation or other back-to-school issues, call the Back-to-School Hotline at 617-635-9046.
  5. Today the Boston Ballet School is offering a free workshop hosted by new and returning faculty. At 5 p.m., a classical ballet program will be offered for placement purposes. This event starts at 4:30 and goes until 6 p.m.
  6. Due to the Labor Day holiday, trash and recycling day is pushed back one day this week.
