It was a beautiful night Thursday for the 14th annual Forest Hills Lantern Festival. Participants made floating lanterns adorned with Chinese or Japanese calligraphy and messages of hope, love and peace.
A light, variable breeze blew the lanterns back and forth across Lake Hibiscus.
Performers included Gund Kwok (a lion dance troupe), Grand Master Tsuji's Samurai Taiko Drumming and Kobudo Martial Arts, Passion East Educational Performances, Ron Murphy and New Life Experience, SHOWA Boston Institute for Language and Culture and The Whiskey Boys.
