CM's Henry Repeats as League Champion and League MVP

Donovan Henry repeats as track and field league champion and MVP.

Editor's Note: The following is a press release.

Catholic Memorial School senior Donovan Henry of Sharon earned the Tri-County League's Track Outstanding Performer of the Year award at last Thursday's League Championship Meet held at Boston's Reggie Lewis Center.

More remarkably, the award was Henry's second-consecutive honor. The top sprinter for the Knights won the league's MVP award at last year's league meet, one in which 15 schools compete a week before states.

At Thursday's meet, Henry won the 55m-dash event and the 300m race. Earlier in the season, Henry broke the facility record in the 300m race by running the event in 34.72 seconds, breaking the record by 1/100th of a second.

Henry, who also regularly performs on the 4x200-meter relay team, which won the state relay meet in January, competed for a Division I state title on Friday.  With another runner in Henry's place on Thursday, that relay team continued its dominance with a convincing 1st-place finish.

Next year, Henry plans to run at Northeastern University
