How Many Calls Did Boston's Emergency Management Receive for West Roxbury?

More than half the calls received were for "tree emergencies" due to high winds from Hurricane Sandy.

As of 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management has fielded:

140 calls for West Roxbury

86 for tree emergencies

"At this point not all calls are resolved. There are still downed power lines, due to some trees are fairly big," said Christina Maryland of the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management.

A "tree emergency" is when a tree has fallen and is obstructing a roadway, or fallen on powerlines, sometimes it is one in the same.
