To the Editor:

I'm getting in touch about something that I feel needs to be brought to the West Roxbury community's attention. You are probably familiar with the mural on the side of Macy's on Centre Street. It's a farm/field scene with wonderful color and it brings such a bright, positive appearance on a drab brick wall-a beautiful scene on an otherwise busy street. I spoke with an employee there today, and he told me that they're having to repoint the brick and the mural will be lost.

The guy at Macy's mentioned the existing mural was painted by a community arts group with an artist's guidance. It would be wonderful if something like that could be done again.
