Boston Police officers were able to work out an ongoing property line dispute between two Grove Street neighbors.

On Aug. 1 around 4:22 p.m., police were on scene and spoke with a homeowner who said her neighbor was trespassing and digging a trench on her property, according to a Boston Police report.

The woman told police there was an ongoing dispute with the neighbor in regards to a retaining wall she had paid $40,000 to construct. She said she felt the neighbor's trench digging would compromise the new wall. She alleged the neighbor had previously called Boston's Inspectional Services Department (ISD) about her in the past. 

Officers spoke with the neighbor in his yard at 343 Grove St., after police observed the man digging what appeared to be a trench along the wall that belongs to the woman, said police. 

Property markers from a property surveyor were located by police, and it was obvious the man had been digging on the woman's property. 

The man agreed to fill in the trench and admitted he had demonstrated poor judgement. 

Police advised the woman to contact ISD to be advised about the dispute.
