Mayor Menino Hopes to be Home for Christmas
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino has been hospitalized with several ailments since Oct. 26.
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino hopes to be celebrating Christmas at his Hyde Park home, and finally out of the hospital this Sunday.
"The Mayor is doing much much better," said John Guilfoil, spokesperson for the Mayor's Office. "He has said he hopes to be home on Sunday. But nothing is certain."
Menino has been hospitalized since October 26 after returning early from an anniversary trip with his wife in Italy. He was diagnosed with a viral infection, and it was found he had a blood clot in his leg, then a back fracture was found during his stay. He was then transferred to Spaulding Rehab on Nov. 26, during which time his doctor at Brigham and Women's Hospital revealed Menino had been diagnosed with Type-2 Diabetes, too.
