Needham Commuter Rail Line On-Time 96% of Time in June
How would you rate the on-time performance of the Needham commuter rail line?
The Massachusetts Bay Commuter Rail Company said the Needham line, which has stops in West Roxbury, had a 96.9% contractual on-time performance rate in June.
The MBCR said it has a contractually-stipulated required goal of 95%.
The MBCR said in a press release that "accounting for factors within MBCR's control the Needham line has exceeded its contractual OTP (on-time performance) goal of 95% in every month in 2012."
For the year, the Needham line has been on-time 96.8%, and reached its highest rate of 98.2% in February.
How would you rate the commuter rail's timeliness of meeting its stated schedule?

96%??? The rush hour trains to Boston are NEVER on time. I guess they make up for the dismal on-time performance during rush hour with exceptional service when nobody is actually riding the train.

Please "accounting for factors within MBCR's control" tells you everything. The fact that the train isn't on time is probably a factor not within their control. I take this train everyday and it is a crap shoot when it will arrive, where it is going to stop, which doors will be open, and if the condutor will actually show up and take your ticket. The MBCR has no conistancy what so ever.

Thank you, Mark M - I left that "accounting for factors within MBCR's control" caveat in for readers. I'm glad to hear feedback from people who take the commuter rail.
