Patriots' Gronkowski Wants West Roxbury's Help Defeating Childhood Cancer
Do you want the opportunity to shave Gronk's head? Of course you do!
New England Patriots Rob Gronkowski is a tough man. He bowls over grown men as if they were Parkway Pop Warner players. But he needs your help with one relentless opponent - pediatric cancer.
One Mission will hold its 3rd annual Kid’s Cancer “Buzz Off” on June 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, and Gronk will be onhand.
Fans are being asked to pledge to shave their heads to raise funds to support kids and families coping with cancer. Participants can create a “Buzz Off” team of friends, family or co-workers to raise funds or participate as individuals.
Gronk is also helping for help, specifically help from West Roxbury:
"I’ve made the commitment to go bald to raise money for children and their families fighting pediatric cancer at One Mission's Kid's Cancer Buzz-Off on June 3rd. I want to raise at least $20,000 and hope the folks in West Roxbury can get behind me by visiting buzzforkids.org and clicking GRONK to donate. If you donate $50 or more, you could win the opportunity to shave my head!"
Last year the “Buzz Off” raised $156,000 to assist families whose kids are undergoing treatment and to support pediatric cancer research. Please go to www.buzzforkids.org to become a buzzee.
