Models strutted down a red carpet on Spring Street's sidewalk in Top It Off and Fabutique garb as the 36 bus passed by on Thursday night.

Commuters honked horns and rubbernecked to get a glance of the spectacle - the first (and hopefully annual) Fashion Mob Fairview Corner Fashion Show.

More than 100 people lined against the commercial stores on the stretch of 162 to 170 Spring Street while trendy tunes from Justin Timberlake, Usher and Rihanna provided the soundtrack.

Among the crowd was Raffaella Thomas, "I think it's great. They should have more of these. It gets people to shop." In Thomas' hand was a shopping bag with a newly purchased item from Top It Off inside.

"It's better than a dream!" said Shirley Walsh, owner of Kalembar Dune, and landlord owner of the stretch, who has worked hard to bring in new businesses like Top It Off and Fabutique. A 'coming soon business' to the block, BakerBaker, also provided complimentary appetizers and desserts throughout the evening. 

Top It Off's Elizabeth Hoenscheid greeted the anticipatory crowd with some quick words, praising Fabutique's Marika Gaurenszky, and Ashley Boiardi of Top It Off, for putting the show together. Carol O'Connor also got a shoutout for helping, and pulling double duty as one of the six models.

And these weren't your blank staring runway models, the ladies shook their hips, waved and smiled at the crowd, played with ambling tykes, and avoided passersby going into the Elizabeth Warren Campaign Office.

The models for the night were all Parkway-based, friends of the stores' owners, and enjoyed their night. There were three Kelly/Kelley models - Kelly Madry, Kelly Gay and Kelley Secord. As well as Dana Malone, and the aforementioned O'Connor.

Hoenscheid glowed with a smile allnight long, especially while playing with her daughter, Caroline, who once or twice made her way onto the red carpet during the festivities. Hoenscheid said they bought the red carpet, which practically guarantees the Fashion Mob Fairview Corner Fashion Show will be at least annual, if not more often.

That notion may bring smiles to many of the audience who enjoyed the fashion show, such as newly-engaged West Roxbury Main Streets Executive Director Kara O'Connor, who echoed the popular sentiments of the fashion spectacle, "This was amazing!"
