POLL: Will Hurricane Sandy Help Obama?
Does his role in the federal reaction to a disaster help the president? Or is that a craven way to look at politics? Vote in our poll by sharing your thoughts in the comments field below.
A Washington Post/ABC poll released this week showed that 80 percent of voters feel President Obama has done a good job dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
Even New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie – a staunch supporter of Mitt Romney – praised Obama's response to the storm, which devastated parts of New Jersey and New York and caused serious damage in many other states, including New Hampshire.
Obama also received the endorsement of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Thursday, with Bloomberg citing Obama's handling of Hurricane Sandy as one of the main reasons he decided to support the president.
Meanwhile, Romney's previous pledge to abolish FEMA hasn't helped him in the wake of the storm.
What do you think? Will Hurricane Sandy and the way President Obama has handled the situation help him come Election Day? Or do you think it won't make any difference at all? Vote in our poll below by leaving a comment with your thoughts.

When you need to survive looking for a place to sleep, stay warm, eat, shower, and get to work to make money ....the last thing on your mind is if Sandy going to help either candidate. Relief does not come fast enough. This is a stupid question. Help your brother the best way you can!

Want to know Romney’s advice for storm survivors?
Don’t be a victim, and stop looking for handouts!
And.... ask your parents for help!
Heck, Romney will dismantle FEMA and the EPA
(= more $$$ for his people/corporations).
Leave it to the states, he says.
Yeah, sure.
Maybe he'll make us dams.... out of his used Etch-A-Sketches?
What we need is a tidal wave
.......of voters.....
to sweep these kind of guys out of power.
This is the BEST way to help the victims
of present and future Sandys.
AND the best way to help yourself, and your family.
Obama does not dismiss 47% of America like Romney.
Obama says: This is not a Republican America.
This is not a Democratic America.
This is the UNITED States of America.
If only the other side would realize that fact!

That he did. Years ago. Your comment has no bearing on the discussion. President Obama is not respinsible for what other people say.

The thing most of you people are not realizing is, is its the presidents and the goverments job to help out in times of need like this. If Romney was president at the time of this disaster you know damn well he would be there helping along with the goverment. You guys are giving him more credit than what he deserves. He is FINALLY doing his job. Step back and think about the role of the President of the United States and you will found he is supposed to do that. Come on people look at the BIG picture.

I'm sorry, I don't get the point that this poll!
I truly believe no matter who was the president at a time of disaster, he would be there to help in some way.
After all isn't that part of his job to make decisions?
So why? Would you say he did a good job?
Correct me if I am wrong ,but that is his job!

Remember George W Bush? Remember Hurricane Katrina? Bush did not visit the ravaged Gulf area for days after the devastation. Romney has said he will end FEMA. Governor Christie (R-NJ) has been singing the President's praises all week.

umm, I also thought that it was the President's job to visit and deal with disasters in the nation until George W. Bush, who didn't bother to visit victims of Katrina until it was pointed out to him that he should.

During Hurricane Katrina, Bush was in Crawford on the ranch, Cheney was in San Diego at a baseball game, Condi Rice was in New York shopping. I guess we didn't have the sophisticated weather warning systems we have now. I remember the picture of Bush in Air Force One, flying low and looking out the window. "Heck of a job Brownie"

The climate is serious, but it has been happening for hundreds of years. If you look back to the time of the ice age, this has happend before. I believe its the earths cycle. Some things you just can't change. When is the last time you heard about the hole in the ozone layer???? It use to be on the news every day. So is it fixed or bigger or what?? It all a bunch of activist hype.

I once had awsome health care for my family. Now that Obama care goes into effect, my health care damn near doubled for my family this January 1st. Now you tell me how that's helping the middle class. In Obamas words to the Russian president "JUst wait till I get re-elected again". Haha I don't know about you folks, but I am kind of worried what he has in store for us. Like Bob Samson stated up above, he has priorities, but they aren't with you or me. Of course we can all quit our jobs and live off of goverment cheese and medical, and get a new cell phone. Then let's see where the deficit goes. GET REAL PEOPLE.

Given the fact this is the second worse disaster after Katrina in monetary cost, his staff has reacted better than Bush's so far. The death toll is a lot less too.
