Pro-Dedham and Anti-West Roxbury Graffiti at Billings Field

Some riffraff graffitied the basketball court of Billings Field over Saturday night.

The basketball court of Billings Field was extensively graffitited during Saturday night, and Boston Police said some of the paint was still fresh as of 8 a.m.

On the far basketball court (there are two basketball courts at Billings), there was white paint with "(Expletive) Westie" and "East Dedham" and "E D" in a cross-like symbol, according to a Boston Police report.

Detectives took photos of the painted words, and recovered a spackle covered with white paint, a paintcan cover, and a white paint can in a trash can.

Officers worked with Boston Fire Department's Engine 30 personnel, who came down to the court and removed much of the paint as possible, before a community event planned for Saturday morning. The BFD were able to remove much of the paint, including the profane word.

Do you think it was Dedham kids or West Roxbury kids? I don't know if we'll ever know...

there have been plenty of times there has been "WESTIE" graffiti in park walls in dedham. This rivalry has been going on for decades and apparently will continue that way probably forever! This is nothing new!
