Rox Diner Gets Beer/Wine License - Starting Dinner Service on Wednesday
Now you can have a beer or a glass of wine while eating dinner at Rox Diner in West Roxbury.
Rox Diner will start serving beer and wine beginning dinner on Wednesday after obtaining a license to serve alcohol.
“For those not familiar with Rox Diner, there’s going to be no bar,” said Rox Diner's legal representative Anthony Ross at a West Roxbury Neighborhood Council meeting last year. “This is a restaurant. We’re talking about serving beer and wine strictly with meals.”
“What we’re trying to do is make the operation of both locations the same,” said Rox Diner co-owner John Fortin at the meeting referring to their sister business in Newton. “We see how well adding beer and wine to dinner works for us in Newton."
In a West Roxbury Patch poll (attached), voters have overwhelmingly supported Rox Diner's beer and wine license.
"Dinner at Rox Diner is a great addition to West Roxbury's vibrant restaurant scene," said Kara O'Connor, executive director of West Roxbury Main Streets.

I love when common sense wins out. Of course it is of no harm to anyone to allow Rox to serve beer and wine. Looking forward to trying them for dinner.
