Steve Jobs' Passing - How Did Apple Change Your Life?

Before his death Wednesday at the age of 56, the creative genius of Steve Jobs brought us iPhones, MacBooks and Buzz Lightyear. Did his work affect your life? Let us know.

Steve Jobs, the Apple of innovation's i, has died at age 56.

Read a statement from his family about Jobs' passing.

The man whose creative genius brought us attractive, have-to-have gadgets like iPods, iPhones and iPads, died just weeks after his resignation as Apple Inc's CEO as he battled pancreatic cancer.

Outside of the Apple store on Boylston Street people had left flowers and apples on the sidewalk, according to Universalhub.

In the hours after news of Jobs' death broke across the interwebs, many took to twitter and other online forums to reflect on the Apple co-founder touched lives with his imagination and attention to detail.

Many quoted from a memorable commencement address Jobs gave at Stanford in 2005, not long after doctors prolonged his life with a surgery to attack his pancreatic cancer. (Watch that video here.)

Quoting Jobs' remarks that day, Arianna Huffington tweeted: "Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose." -- Steve Jobs, 2005"

President Barack Obama's campaign also expressed condolences via twitter. "Rest in peace, Steve Jobs. From all of us at #Obama2012, thank you for the work you make possible every day—including ours," his official account tweeted.

On its website, Apple, perhaps fittingly, kept it sleek and simple, with a black-and-white photo of Jobs and thoughtful statement.

"Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being," the company statment said. "Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple."

With his consumer-first approach to innovation, Jobs helped make once-inaccessible technologies more or less ubiquitous. He put the "i" in front of pads, pods and phones. He changed the way we work and play.

How did Apple products like the iPhone, iPad, iPod and more change or enhance your life?

‎"Thank you, Steve Jobs, you gave me a voice."
My nephew Seth has cerebral palsy and uses an iPad to communicate with those of us who do not sign. His "Thank you, Steve Jobs, you gave me a voice" is perhaps the most eloquent of the eulogies that will be offered for Steve Jobs.
