The Unofficial Mayor of West Roxbury - The Fundraising Event!
Richie Gormley officially won the unofficial poll, selecting him as the "Mayor" of West Roxbury. On Friday, March 30, the nominees will be honored for their years of service to West Roxbury.
What started off as a simple poll turned into an international affair - and now there will be a West Roxbury Patch event honoring all 10 (Cappy too!) nominees.
On Friday, March 30 at the Irish Social Club, Richie "Lord Mayor" Gormley will be honored - and rumor is he will be dragged around in chains like they do with mayors in Ireland.
The Boston Police Gaelic Column is coming and will be playing their bagpipes and drums. There will also be a DJ spinning tunes for young and old.
There will be a suggested donation of $10 at the doors, which open at 7 p.m. And the money raised will go to several Parkway charitable organizations.
There will also be a West Roxbury-themed silent auction, a cash bar, as well as some food.
