Two State Championships for CM Speech and Debate
Mark Woodall, Marcus Jackson, Andy Rogantino and Kevin Donnelly won the first state title in school history in the category of Multiple Reading at Saturday’s Massachusetts Forensics League state championship meet.

Catholic Memorial School seniors Mark Woodall, Marcus Jackson, Andy Rogantino and Kevin Donnelly won the first state title in school history in the category of Multiple Reading at Saturday’s Massachusetts Forensics League state championship meet on March 31.
The senior team performed “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” by the Reduced Shakespeare Company, a comic watering-down of the Bard’s volumes.
Remarkably, Donnelly and Woodall earned a second state championship in another category at the event, hosted by Chelmsford High School on Saturday. Performing “The Blue Demon” by Darko Tresnjak, the two took home a 1st place trophy in Duo Interpretation.
Overall, the team placed third, behind Milton Academy and Newton South High School.
Other top finishers included John Barrett (2nd place - Radio); John Allaire (4th OO); Jack Dion (4th Declamation); Tom Foley & Andrew Rogantino (6th - Duo); Matt Friosi (6th Place - Declamation); and Bradley Rowan (Semi-Finalist - Prose).
Thirteen students from the team have earned spots to compete at Nationals in Baltimore, MD in May.
