Veteran's Day is November 11 and there are plenty of ways to honor the men and women who have served in our country's military, including free car washes and sci-fi books.
Brad Kinne, owner of Seek Books, and a veteran, is donating books all month long to anyone who wants to mail them to members of the military in honor of Veteran's Day.
"(They can) just put them in with another package they are mailing. People will most likely be mailing out Christmas packages soon," said Kinne, who said he's give six books to anyone who comes into the store on Centre Street and asks for books for veterans. Kinne said that a paperback or two wouldn't add much weight to a military backpack.
Authors Isaac Asimov, Piers Anthony, and Marion Zimmer Bradley, are some of the free writers that could be sent to members.
Waves Car Wash will be giving all veterans and service personnel a free car wash at the West Roxbury location and other nationwide locations throughout Thursday.
Entrance into every national park across the country is also free on Veteran's Day.
Also Amazon.com is giving away a free "Veterans Day Honor" MP3 album by The Bands and Ensembles of the U.S. Armed Forces download.
