A West Roxbury woman told Boston Police that an unattended dog bit her right calf while she was walking out of the UPS store in Hancock Village on Saturday.

The woman said while walking with a friend, a little white and black dog was "yapping loudly", and as she walked by, it "jumped up without provocation and bit the back of my right calf" around 11:30 a.m. 

A woman sitting in a nearby car told the victim the dog had bitten two other people, while being tied up and unattended, according to a Boston Police report.

The victim went into Bruegger's and asked if anyone owned the "little black and white who was yapping non stop outside?" A woman with an infant stated the dog was here, and she was sorry the victim had been bitten. The woman provided her name and her telephone number, but the victim did not ask about the dog's vaccinations, nor did the owner provide that information.

The victim contacted police around 4:30 p.m. because her calf was still hurt. An officer observed a "very small spot on the back of her right calf", and it did not appear the skin was broken.

Due to police being contacted several hours after the incident, witnesses or the dog's owner could not be contacted at that time, but their contact info was provided by the victim.
