Mt. St. Joseph Academy Holds Final Graduation

The 127th and final commencement for Mt. St. Joseph Academy in Brighton took place on Wednesday evening, May 23 in the school assembly hall. At 6 p.m., the class of 2012, escorted by lower classwoman lined up outside and filed into the auditorium in a reserved front section to the tune of pomp and circumstance.  Delivering the invocation was Sister Mary L. Murphy, CSJ, president of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph.

The salutatory address was presented by Songja Ono and the valedictory by Kelly Ann Brennan. Among the 49 graduates are one from West Roxbury: Alia Kerany and two from Roslindale: Rebecca Pruesser and Niza Tavarez.  Ms. Kathleen Fraser, principal addressed the class and presented the diplomas.

In September, Mt. St. Joseph and Trinity Catholic in Newton will merge into St. Joseph Preparatory School at the Brighton campus.
