Hosts Fall Discovery and Tree Planting Volunteer Day

to learn about and work on this unique  property

Saturday October 27—9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

BOSTON, MA – October 16, 2012 –Join BNAN Stewardship Manager and urban naturalist Karen Chaffee for a magical fall hike through the Allandale Woods Urban Wild exploring trails and fall foliage.  The walk will tour the woods and highlight ecological and environmental points of interest along the way.  Hikers will have an opportunity to plant some native trees and shrubs.  Gloves, tools and a warm beverage will be provided.  Please join us in protecting and enhancing  this wonderful urban habitat.

We will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the parking area located off 7 VFW Parkway in West Roxbury.  The walk and service project will last about two hours.  This program is sponsored by Boston Parks and Recreation Department, and Boston Natural Areas network.
