DESCRIPTION:Mount Auburn Birding and Plum Island birding trips will be of
 fered in May. Join us for a wonderful morning of birding at Mount Auburn
  Cemetery in Cambridge.&nbsp\; Migrants and blooms should be abundant as
  we walk this historic cemetery in search of interesting birds.&nbsp\; M
 eet at Moose Hill and travel in our van there and back again. Wednesday\
 , May 9\, 6 am -12 noon. Fee is $25-$30 and.\n&nbsp\;\nWe will also jour
 ney to the Parker River Wildlife Refuge on Plum Island where we will loo
 k for shorebirds\, migrants and anything interesting we can find.&nbsp\;
  Meet at Moose Hill and travel in our van there and back again on Wednes
 day\, May 16\, 8am -4pm. Fee is $35-$40 and pre-registration is required
 . Bring snacks/lunch\, drinks\, sunscreen\, and binoculars.\n&nbsp\;\nMo
 ose Hill also offers birding opportunities on our own trails. Christine 
 Turnbull will lead a casual walk and exploration for spring migrants and
  local nesting birds along our Billings Loop Trail.&nbsp\; Meet at the N
 ature Center and stay as long or short as your schedule allows.&nbsp\; B
 irders of all abilities are welcomed. These walks are being offered at 6
 am\, Thursdays\, May 3\,10\,17\,24 and 31. Program is free\, donations t
 o Bird-a-thon appreciated\n&nbsp\;\nJoin Patti Austin for an afternoon o
 f fern identification and natural history exploration.&nbsp\; Begin indo
 ors with a look at the fascinating lifecycle of ferns and where they fit
  into Moose Hill&rsquo\;s ecosystems. Next head outside to identify fern
 s along the Billings Loop Trail while enjoying a leisurely walk.&nbsp\; 
 Hand-outs are provided to allow for continued learning. Fee is $10-$15 a
 nd pre-registration required.\n&nbsp\;\nDeer and the Forest\, What&rsquo
 \;s Happening to Our Plants? This program is offered Wednesday\, May 23\
 , 6 pm. There is no fee. It will be an informative walk and talk about w
 hite-tailed deer and the impact they are having on native plants.&nbsp\;
  What does this mean to our forests?&nbsp\; What are the ripple effects 
 towards other wildlife?\n&nbsp\;\nWalks in Massachusetts: John Galluzzo\
 , the Adult Education and Citizen Science Coordinator for Mass Audubon&r
 squo\;s South Shore Sanctuaries\, will speak on his recent book\, Half a
 n Hour a Day Across Massachusetts: Finding Nature in Every Town in the C
 ommonwealth.&nbsp\; Last year\, John took a half-hour walk in each of th
 e 351 towns in the state\, focusing on Mass Audubon sanctuaries\, state 
 parks\, and other open areas (including cemeteries). His goal was to pro
 ve that a nature walk is never out of reach for a citizen of Massachuset
 ts.&nbsp\; Join him for this free talk about his experiences on Thursday
