MSPCA to Debut Tough Love - Documentary on Dog Training
On Sunday, June 17th, 5-6:30 PM, the MSPCA will host the Boston debut of a film documentary called “Toughlove: A Meditation on Dominance and Dogs,” which traces the history of the “alpha dog” concept from its origins in 1940’s wolf studies to its current popularity among ordinary dog owners, pondering themes of family, hierarchy and power along the way.
By UMass Lowell history professor Chad Montrie, the film features such luminaries as Sophia Yin, Raymond Coppinger, Alexandra Horowitz, and the MSPCA’s own behaviorist, Terri Bright.
To learn more about the film or to order advance tickets online visit http://support.mspca.org/site/Calendar?id=102521&view=Detail. The film will be shown in our auditorium, and tickets may also be purchased the evening of the show.
Please join us in celebrating what will certainly be an important film in the animal-training community!
