 story of the &ldquo\;alpha dog&rdquo\; concept from its origins in 1940&
 rsquo\;s wolf studies to its current popularity among ordinary dog owner
 s\, pondering themes of family\, hierarchy and power along the way.\nBy 
 UMass Lowell history professor Chad Montrie\, the film features such lum
 inaries as Sophia Yin\, Raymond Coppinger\, Alexandra Horowitz\, and the
  MSPCA&rsquo\;s own behaviorist\, Terri Bright.\nTo learn more about the
