The next meeting of the Association will be on Wednesday morning, June 20, 2012 at West Roxbury Pub and Restaurant Function Room, 1885 Centre Street, West Roxbury at 7:45 am with meeting to start promptly at 8 a.m. This will be the last meeting before convening for the summer.

The First meeting of the September through June 2012-2013 season will be Wednesday morning, September 19, same place, same time.

The agenda is as follows from Mary Mulvey Jacobson, president of WRBPA:

SIDEWALK SALE DAYS:  Well, you can see that this didn't happen this year.  Unfortunately, I was involved in a bad car accident and was unable to follow through with determining interest in revitalizing the once popular 4-day event.  When we get back together in the fall, we will reconvene the Working Committee and continue the work to   poll all West Roxbury businesses on their interest and willingness to participate.

YMCA RENOVATION AND CONSTRUCTION PREVIEW:  Come and see the plans for the West Roxbury YMCA and hear about the status of the capital campaign.

1St ANNUAL TASTE OF WEST ROXBURY:  Spectacular job, Kara O’Connor, Executive Director of West Roxbury Main Streets.  The Irish Social Club was the setting for this tremendously successful event. Over 450 people attended and 23 restaurants participated.

West Roxbury Pub (WRP) is a favorite choice for unwinding after work or on an afternoon/evening off. A classic Irish bar with Guiness flowing on tap, WRP also features keno, the lottery, darts, karaoke on Friday nights and live music on Saturdays. The food menu holds no big surprises, but we're told the kitchen is dependable and very reasonably priced. The walls are painted with murals that memorialize the life of former Massachusetts Governor James Michael Curley; there's also a painting copied from a famous photo of him shaking hands with Dapper O'Neil along the side of the building.
