Bike Lanes to be Discussed at West Roxbury Meeting on Tuesday

5 things to know for Tuesday, Nov. 19 in West Roxbury.

1. Rodman & Rodman, P.C., an independent accounting and tax firm in Newton, has hired three new Staff Accountants including, Justin T. Horr, a resident of West Roxbury.

2. The American Red Cross of Massachusetts kicked of its annual Holiday Mail for Heroes program at the Massachusetts State House on Monday, Nov. 18.  The event encourages people to spread joy by signing holiday greeting cards to support military members, veterans and their families. On Monday, several legislators, aides and State House staffers stopped by Nurses’ Hall to sign their wishes. This event was hosted by Senator Michael F. Rush and Representative Carlo Basile, Chairs of the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs.

3. Nicole Freedman, Director of Bicycle Programs, will address concerned residents about new bike lanes in Boston this week.  Freedman will speak at West Roxbury Business and Professional Association meeting on Nov. 19 at 7:30 pm. at the West Roxbury Police Station.

4. West Roxbury families are welcome to celebrate the Day of the Dead on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the WR branch of the Boston Public Library.

5. Walter’s Run 5k will be held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 8.  The race begins at the West Roxbury YMCA and the first e50 entrants get running gloves and goodie bags.
