Monday Essentials: Stuffed Animal Sleepover; and Thirsty Thursday at Lord's & Lady's

Children younger than 5 come to the West Roxbury Library on Monday for a Stuffed Animal Sleepover.

  1. On Monday, children 5-years-old and younger are invited to a free Story Time: Stuffed Animal Sleepover at the West Roxbury Library. Bedtimes stories will be read and children are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed animal to spend the night at the library and collect the next day - imagine the stories they'll be able to tell! 5-5:45 p.m.
  2. Thirsty Thursdays is happening at Lords & Lady's Hair Salons co-hosted with complimentary sangria from West on Centre. A Moroccan oil deep conditioning treatment and blow dry for only $35.
  3. Chessmaster Charlie moderates the Ted D'Amato Chess Club on Monday and Wednesday afternoons in the summer at the West Roxbury Library. The program runs from 2:30-5:30 p.m. for students of the game of all ages and skill levels. This program is funded by the Friends of the West Roxbury Branch Library.
  4. The MGH-Charlestown Imaging Center is running a research study on maternal bonding and is looking for healthy mothers, ages 21 to 45, with infants ages 4-18 months to participate. For information, contact Dr. Shir Aztil at 617-373-2649 or email savraham-atzil@partners.org. 
  5. The ReadBoston Storymobile will be making multiple stops per week at four West Roxbury locations this summer to read to children, free books and more! On Wednesdays at 10 a.m. at the Roche Family Community Center, and at 11:15 a.m. at Billings Field, and 12:30 p.m. at the Ohrenberger Community Center.
