Preschool Registration, West Rox Blogger at Walsh Ceremony and More

Here are five things you need to know today, Jen. 7, in West Roxbury.

1. Preschool registration: Registration for Boston Center for Youth and Families Ohrenberger Center's preschool starts Jan. 9. If you have a child ages three or four, click here for more details.

2. Walsh sworn in: West Roxbury blogger Patrick O'Connor was at Conte Forum yesterday for the new mayor's swearing in. Click here to check out photos from the event.

3. Running for a cause: The Richard family has started a foundation and is recruiting runners for the 2014 Boston Marathon. Little Martin Richard was killed near the marathon's finish line last year, one of three victims of the bombing. His sister Jane lost a leg, and his mother Denise was also seriously injured. 5. Weather: The good news—if there's any good news in the forecast— is that today will be dry. But it'll be bitterly cold, with a high temperature in the mid-teens. Wednesday will hit the 20's, Thursday the low 30's and by the weekend, we'll be close to 50 degrees.
