The Temperature Goes To... 11

Here are five things you need to know Friday, Jan. 24, in West Roxbury.

1. Brush Painting with the MFA: Next Tuesday, the West Roxbury public library will host a special painting session for children aged 6 and up from 4 to 5 p.m. The session will focus on traditional Asian artistic culture by painting on rice paper with sumi ink and bamboo brushes. This is a program with the Museum of Fine Arts.

2. In case you missed it: Stephen, Lori and Gregory Palladino all pleaded guilty to running a Ponzi Scheme through their financial company. Read the whole story here.

3. B.U.M.P.: The Boston Unscripted Musical Project will be at the Riverside Theatre Works in Hyde Park on Saturday night at 8 p.m. B.U.M.P. is a fully-improvised one-act musical based on a single suggestion from the audience. No two shows are the same. For ticket information, click here.

5. Weather: Well, the temperature is going to go to 11 today. And while that’s a good thing for an amplifier’s volume, it’s not a good thing on a thermometer. Get those down jackets, hats, scarves, gloves, mittens and anything else you can find to cover your extremities. It’s really cold out there.
