Winter Warm Up and Busy Weekend Ahead

Here are five things you need to know Friday, Jan. 10, in West Roxbury.

1. Hot Stove, Cool Music: Former Red Sox General Manager Theo Epstein, now with the Chicago Cubs, returns to the city for the Hot Stove Cool Music benefit at the Paradise Rock Club this weekend. The event will benefit a “Foundation To Be Named Later” and begins at 6 p.m. Saturday.

2. Be A Veterinarian: Has your child always wanted to be a veterinarian? The Franklin Park Zoo wants to help! Join Zoo staff on Saturdays in January between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to learn about veterinary health and practice good vet skills. Bring a stuffed animal! Details on our calendar.

5. Weather: Well, after some bitterly cold days, we’re going to add some snow to the mix again today. According to the National Weather Service, we have a chance to snow showers before 5 p.m. today to go along with temperatures in the mid-30s. Expect a slight warm-up over the weekend, though, as we could see the mid-50s on Saturday.
