O'NEILL AND ASSOCIATES GROWS PUBLIC RELATIONS PRACTICE WITH HIRE OF DIRECTOR MICHAEL SHERRY

O'Neill and Associates, New England's leading full-service government affairs and public relations firm, announced today that Michael Sherry has joined the firm as a director within the communications practice. Mr. Sherry provides public relations support to clients in various industries including finance, higher education, healthcare and real estate. He specializes in media relations, message development, community relations and political campaigns.

"With an extensive background in politics and vast experience in communications, Mr. Sherry brings a unique and valuable perspective to client service that is also in keeping with our firm's integrated approach." 

Prior to joining O'Neill and Associates, Mr. Sherry was the press secretary for Suffolk District Attorney Dan Conley's 2013 campaign for mayor of Boston. In this role, he spearheaded communications and media relations efforts, including writing speeches and press releases, developing social media content and generating earned media for the candidate. 

Before that, Mr. Sherry worked as a project manager for The Calvert Street Group in Nashville, where he provided strategic guidance to clients across the country and directed numerous corporate and non-partisan campaigns which focused on education policy, land-use and development, and tourism and hospitality. Prior to that, he consulted for various local campaigns in Massachusetts, including City Council campaigns in Cambridge and Malden, a zoning referendum in Marblehead, and a referendum to ban bottled water in Concord. Mr. Sherry has also worked as campaign manager for the successful 2010 re-election of State Senator Cynthia Creem, as well as the successful 2009 at-large campaign to elect Leland Cheung to a seat on the City Council in Cambridge, MA. 

Mr. Sherry is a graduate of Tufts University where he studied political science and economics and wrote a weekly political column for The Tufts Daily. He currently resides in Boston.
