Riverside Theatre Works Summer Camps Now Enrolling

This summer, get ready to perform! Limited space is still available for Riverside Theatre Works’ Broadway Boot Camp, Summer Chorus Workshop, and Creative Dramatics summer camps, which give kids ages 4 to 13 a chance to sing, dance, play, and appear on the theater’s main stage.

For kids ages 8 to 13, Broadway Boot Camp will present “Once Upon a Mattress” in July and “Willy Wonka Jr.” in August. The three-week long sessions involve theater games, team-building activities, singing, dancing and acting training, and intensive rehearsals, culminating in a two-night performance of a full Broadway musical.

For kids ages 4 to 7, Creative Dramatics is a half-day program filled with fun games and exercises, designed to develop musical theater skills, stage presence, confidence, and imagination. The session ends with a small showcase performance in the theater.

And for the first time, Riverside is offering students ages 8 to 13 a chance to participate in an afternoon choral workshop, in which they’ll learn vocal techniques and prepare to perform a small revue.

Camp sessions run from July 7 to 25 and from August 4 to 22. Creative Dramatics runs from 9 a.m. to noon and costs $400 per session. Broadway Boot Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and costs $700 per session. The Summer Chorus Workshop runs from 3 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and costs $150 per session.
