West Roxbury Youth Examines Greek and Roman Relics

Corey Scannell of West Roxbury,a senior at Boston College High School and one of the ten members of the College Level Latin V course, visited the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston December 10th.

Mr. Matthew Aumiller, his Latin teacher, introduced the class to the Museum's Greek and Roman collections as well as frescoes by Boston's native son, John Singer Sargent. The budding numismatists spent the lion's share of their field trip in the newly-renovated coin room. Corey is eagerly looking forward to reading the Roman poet, Ovid, in the second semester.

Boston College High School is a Jesuit, Catholic, college-preparatory school for young men founded in 1863.  The school enrolls approximately 1600 students from more than 100 communities in eastern Massachusetts. For more http://www.bchigh.edu
