5 Things July 10: Urban Agriculture, Storymobile and Gardening Crafts

The ReadBoston Storymobile will be making multiple stops per week at four West Roxbury locations this summer to read to children, give out free books and more!


  1. Learn about the future of urban agriculture in Boston at a meeting led by city officials at the Roche Family Community Center, 1716 Centre St., from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
  2. The ReadBoston Storymobile will be making multiple stops per week at four West Roxbury locations this summer to read to children, give out free books and more! The first day is on Wednesday (July 10) at 10 a.m. at the Roche Family Community Center, and at 11:15 a.m. at Billings Field, and 12:30 p.m. at the Ohrenberger Community Center. The Storymobile will be at the West Roxbury Library on Thursdays at 6 p.m. Click here for the full schedule.
  3. At the West Roxbury Library today is Gardening Crafts for free for kids ages 5 to 12. Come in for making tissue paper flowers and 'planting' them in pots. This program is part of the Summer Reading Program: Dig into Reading.
  4. Enter your West Roxbury garden into the Mayor's Garden Contest by July 12.
  5. Enjoy a free movie in the park at Billings Field on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The movie is 'Rise of the Guardians' and the movie starts at 8 p.m. Facepainting, free popcorn and giveaways!
