5 Things July 16: Cool Off at Hynes Spray Lot

Get your summer reading packets at the West Roxbury Library.


  1. Looking to cool off for free with the kids? Try the Hynes Playground Spray Lot. 
  2. On Mondays and Wednesdays this summer at the West Roxbury Library is the Ted D'Amato Chess Club for students 18 and younger from 2:30 to 5:30 in a supervised environment. Learn the game or practice. Free. 
  3. The ReadBoston Storymobile will be making multiple stops per week at four West Roxbury locations this summer to read to children, free books and more! On Wednesdays at 10 a.m. at the Roche Family Community Center, and at 11:15 a.m. at Billings Field, and 12:30 p.m. at the Ohrenberger Community Center. The Storymobile will be at the West Roxbury Library on Thursdays at 6 p.m. Click here for the full schedule.
  4. On Wednesday at the West Roxbury Library is a book discussion group of 'The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry' from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Open to all, no registration required. 
  5. Register students for the summer reading program at the West Roxbury Library today and Wednesday at 10 a.m.  For free pick up the reading packet and register for special events. For toddlers to grade 8.
