Benefit Being Held For Westie Teen Injured in Car Crash

The benefit is Nov. 16 and will include a raffle and silent auction.

A benefit fundraiser will be held for a West Roxbury teen who was injured in a violent motor vehicle crash last month while on his way back from school in early September.

Mark Delamere was seriously injured in the car accident while on his way home from Boston Latin Academy, and is now in Atlanta after beginning his occupational and physical rehab at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, according to Stephen Delamere, Mark's uncle.

There were six victims in the crash, which caused authorities to shut down the Arborway for the duration of the afternoon commuter, Mark Delamere was one of them.

Delamere has sustained a severe injury to his spinal cord.  He will be treating at The Shepherd Center in Atlanta, which specializes in therapy for spinal cord injuries 

Delamere’s family has created a donation page on gofundme.com (CLICK on link to donate) and in a month,  more than $50,000 had been raised with a donation goal of $250,000.

His family will now hold a Mark Delamere STRONG Benefit on Saturday, November 16, from 7 p.m.  to midnight at the Demetri's Function Center in Foxboro. 

The event will include a Silent Auction and Raffles  from 7pm - 10pm, a DJ, dancing, Hors d'euvres, desserts, according to his aunt Tara Delamere.

The event costs $40 donation per ticket in advance and  $50 donation per ticket at the door (cash & checks only at the door).
