Boston's 2013 Christmas Tree Pickup Schedule

The city will take your tree from the curb after the holidays and through January.

While some might not be ready to take down the decorations, with Christmas week winding down, residents in West Roxbury and throughout Boston may wonder what to do next with their Christmas trees.

The good news is that residents throughout the city can place trees on the curbside on their regular trash days starting the week of Monday, Dec. 30. Crews will collect tress for the first few weeks of January, according to the Boston Public Works department.

Residents should plan on having their trees on the curb by 7 a.m. of their regular trash and recycling day. Trees should be free of ornaments and decorations, and residents should not place them in plastic bags.

Boston also allows residents to recycle Christmas trees at its compost site. Again, tress brought to the site must be clean of all decorations and stands, and trees should not be placed in plastic bags.
