Irish Social Club to Host Fundraiser for West Roxbury Family on Friday

Proceeds from the event will support Barry Wiener and his family.

The Irish Social Club of Boston in West Roxbury will host a special event on Friday, Feb. 7 to benefit a local family.

The event, dubbed "New Year, New Addition" is a fundraiser to benefit the West Roxbury resident Barry Wiener and his 19-year-old son Eddie, who care for Andy and Dan, 13-year-old twin boys who are severely disabled and in need of home alternations in West Roxbury. Andrew is blind and in a wheelchair with severe brain damage and has cerebral palsy and a seizure disorder. Dan is legally blind with autism and also has a brain injury less severe than Andrew’s. He also has a seizure disorder.

Weiner, a Brockton native, who has lived in West Roxbury for 13 years, has also set up a GoFundMe.com page to help raise money to support his cause.
