Photo Gallery: Arnold Arboretum Abloom with Families and Flowers on Lilac Sunday

Arnold Arboretum's annual Mother's Day celebration brings moms, flowers and fun together on Sunday.

Mother's Day smells like flowers at the - lilacs, to be exact. More than 180 kinds of lilacs took the stage on Sunday as people from all around Massachusetts flooded the arboretum to share picnics, enjoy performances and smell the flowering lilacs.

The Arboretum offered tours and family activities, while food puveyors, music and dance performers were scattered throughout the park. The main attraction, however, continued to be what it's been since 1908 - bright, fragrant blooms heralding the arrival of spring.
