West Roxbury's Melville Attending Boston Crafts School to Study Furniture Making

Eileen Melville is learning how to make some really nice cabinets and furniture.

 

West Roxbury's Eileen Melville is attending the North Bennet Street School in the North End, where she has begun a two-year training program in cabinet and furniture making.

Melville is a graduate of Brookline High School, and the UMass Boston.

The North Bennet Street School, is one of the country’s oldest schools for craftsmanship training, and is known internationally for its rigorous teaching methods, and for its role in promoting the preservation of traditional crafts skills. 

Graduates go onto varied career paths from running their own custom woodworking shops or companies to working for larger furniture manufacturers, real estate developers, contractors and designers.
