Tree Falls on West Roxbury Home

Wind gusts as fast as Sustained winds are expected through Friday evening at 6 p.m. in the range of 20 to 30 miles per hour pushed down a tree this morning on Sanborn Avenue.

In case you ignored the weather advisory sent out this morning, it's windy out today.

Powerful wind knocked down a tree into a West Roxbury home Friday morning, causing damage to the roof.

Heather MacFarlane, the owner of the home on Sanborn Avenue, said  she called the city about it before it fell, and they said it would take several months for them to come look at it.

"Luckily no one was home or injured at the time," MacFarlane said in an email to Patch. "Luckily, it wasn’t as bad as it could have been."

Sustained winds are expected through Friday evening at 6 p.m. in the range of 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 50 miles per hour. A powerful early season storm in southeastern Canada is producing the winds, the NWS reports.
