Art! Boston Cultural Council Now Accepting Applications

The Boston Cultural Council is now accepting grant applications for its 2014 grant funding cycle. 

The Boston Cultural Council (BCC), is part of the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Tourism and Special Events, and annually distributes funds allocated by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Applications are being accepted in the following categories: Dance, Theatre, Literary Arts, Humanities, Multi-discipline, and the Field Trip grant (formerly known as the P.A.S.S. program).

According to Council Manager Arreen Andrew, the grants support a variety of artistic programs and activities in Boston such as exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops and lectures.

The BCC is made up of Boston residents appointed by Mayor Menino to serve for up to six years each. The BCC annually reviews applications during fall meetings "to evaluate the overall quality of proposed programming and its potential benefit to diverse audiences in neighborhoods throughout Boston."
