Thursday night's Taste of Roslindale has gone thematic - with restaurants incorporating local and seasonal ingredients in their offerings.
This year's Taste expects to be more intimate, featuring passed hors d'ouevres, and cooking demonstrations. There will also be music by the Camelia Latin Jazz Band. Tickets are $40 and buys you all you can eat. There is also a cash bar.
(Buy your tickets here before the Taste on Thursday night.)
This year's Taste features 21 total restaurants, with three being from West Roxbury: West on Centre, Himalayan Bistro, and Masona Grill. This year several restaurants will tickle your taste buds at the Taste for the first time, with the freshman class made up of: Napper Tandy’s, Village Sushi, and Wapo Taco.
"This year this is our sixth year, and we're bringing an elevated feeling to the event. We are tying it to a harvest theme, and asking restaurants to incorporate local and seasonal ingredients into their dishes," said Stephanie Cave, executive director of Roslindale Village Main Street. "We hope to have some of our farms (from the Farmers' Market) partner with the restaurants to provide them produce at wholesale. We’re doing some new cooking and food demonstrations. We’re also doing some interesting raffles."
Cave added that paper napkins will be used with cloth linens, when asked about paper versus cloth for napkins.
The annual Taste of Roslindale is on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 6:30 to 9 p.m. at St. Nectarios Church, 39 Belgrade Ave., in Roslindale Village. Funds raised go to Roslindale Village Main Street.
