The Boston Strong Music Marathon event held at the Irish Social Club grossed more than $17,000 for the One Fund Boston.

Money is still being raised through t-shirt sales by graphic artist Jennifer Wilson. You can contact her through Parkway Art's Facebook page.

The event held on June 29, at the Irish Social Club of Boston on Park Street in West Roxbury featured many musical acts, six Irish step dancing schools, and specifically honored the first responders of the Boston area to thank them for their work during the Boston Marathon bombings and aftermath.

"It was a day that just couldn't be replicated. I was totally in awe of being in the presence of the first responders," said Mary Mulvey Jacobson to Patch. "Detective Lieutenant Michael Lawn from the Watertown Police, Lieutenant Pauline Wells from Cambridge Police, Jim Hooley from Boston EMS, Officer Ryan Manning from the Boston Police, Boston Fire Department Captain Paul Glora and Firefighter Tom Hughes, Mike MacNiven and John Murray from McCall Ambulance, Laura Walsh, RN and Emergency Department Doctor Chuck Pozner, both from Brigham and Women’s Hospital and representing all doctors and nurses.

Jacobson, the chair of the Boston Strong Music Marathon, said tears were flowing on many faces throughout the event.

"There were a couple of times during the evening that I was overwhelmed just looking at these brave men and women at the Club. I wasn't the only person who cried or nearly cried.  It was hard to believe that we were all in the same room with them," said Jacobson.

Other first responders and private citizens honored were: private citizen Carlos Arredondo, Detective Russell O’Neill from the Brookline Police, Sgt. Cheryl Vossmer from MIT, Assistant Suffolk County District Attorney John Pappas, BPD Officer Sean McCarthy from the Emerald Society for the Boston Police Department. Due to scheduling conflicts, Mike Adamson from the MBTA Police, David Donahue, FBI, Officer Paul Conneely from the State Police and Private Citizens Tom and Peter  Meagher received their citations later.
