Buy Tix Now: 1st Taste of West Roxbury on May 10

Get your tastebuds ready because the will take place on Thursday, May 10. The -sponsored event will showcase 22 restaurants that will practically take eaters on an international food journey.

The event will take place at the of Boston, but there will be a lot more than Irish fare, said Mike Loconto, WRMS' Board of Directors, "I'm really looking forward to showcasing the diverse cuisine in West Roxbury. We have everything from American bistros to South American influences, pan-Asian dishes, Middle Eastern cuisine and Italian. Plus, it will be a chance to get together with friends in a newly renovated neighborhood landmark, the Irish Social Club."

The event will also feature DJ Dave Solimine, a silent auction, cash bar, and raffle prizes. All proceeds from the event will support West Roxbury Main Streets’ community revitalization efforts.

West Roxbury resident Patty St. Amand is looking forward to a night out with her husband, "We have lived in West Roxbury for 16 years and have always tried to support the community, and we've been particularly pleased with what Main Streets has been doing recently... Why wouldn’t we go? We’re going to support our community."

Amand said the Taste of West Roxbury brings somewhat of a challenge, too.

"We think we’ve been to every restaurant in West Roxbury, but we're always surprised when we go to events - and even looking at the list of restaurants (for the Taste of West Roxbury), we still have a few we haven't tried. It gives us a chance to do that. All in one place."

WRMS' Executive Director Kara O'Connor spoke about the event, "I am excited that we have had such a great response from our local restaurants, with 22 restaurants participating in our first annual taste of WR. This is an excellent opportunity for West Roxbury to showcase our diverse array of great local restaurants and we hope for the Taste of West Roxbury to be a WRMS signature event for years to come." 

The following restaurants are scheduled to dish up their own brand of deliciousness: Comella’s, Corrib Pub and Restaurant, Edible Arrangements, Himalayan Bistro, Los Amigo’s, Masona Grill, Porter Café, Red-Eyed Pig, Rox Diner, Spring Street Café, Just Baked, Sticky Rice Café, Sugar Bakery, The Upper Crust, Tony’s Place, West On Centre, Leanworks, Redd’s In Rozzie, MJ’s, and Amir’s Natural Foods, Al Wadi, and Deli After Dark.
