Mangia Neapolitan Pizzeria to Open in West Roxbury This Month

The restaurant will be the third pizza shop to open in the space on Centre Street.

A new pizza shop is headed to West Roxbury.

Mangia will open in mid-April in the space formerly occupied by The Parlour at 1727 Centre St., next to The Porter Cafe and across the street from West on Centre.

Mangia has not released a specific opening date in West Roxbury as of yet, but said via its Facebook page that a "Boston Celebrity Chef" and regular of the Food Network and the Travel Channel will join the team as culinary director.

It's hardly the first pizza shop to fill this particular space. Mangia is replacing The Parlour, the short-lived pizza eatery that opened last fall, filling the space after Upper Crust Pizzeria closed in May 2013. The Parlour closed in early March, announcing the move on Facebook

One thing Mangia will bring to the space the other two eateries did not will be a new self-serve yogurt bar, dubbed "Yogoteria." The feature is also available at Mangia's Medfield location.
