Watch Charlie Nichols' Bench Dedication on Weld Street
Charlie Nichols was a beloved shop owner and community member for 50 years in West Roxbury.
Several generations of West Roxbury residents can talk about Charlie Nichols,
the owner and operator of the Pioneer Food Store located on Weld Street in West Roxbury for 50 years.
Last weekend a bench was dedicated in honor of Nichols near the corner of Pomfret and Maple streets.
In addition to being a wonderful neighbor to the West Roxbury and Roslindale community, Nichols was a beloved figure to many children who frequented his store delighting them with his penny candy.
