West Roxbury Main Streets will soon work to boost its Farmers Market program, thanks to a grant recently awarded by Boston Mayor Martin Walsh and Boston Main Streets.
The local organization along with six others throughout the Boston area received the Boston Main Street Foundation's Innovation and Impact Grants for a range of projects including public art initiatives, branding efforts, marketing support and other projects.
West Roxbury Main Streets will use the funds of $4,600 to support its new Farmers Market, helping it to expand with more vendors, better marketing and volunteer support, according to the announcement.
"We're funding a range of innovative projects through this initiative with the Boston Main Streets Foundation," Walsh said in a statement. "This is a public-private partnership that really works; our Main Streets districts can enhance what makes them unique and support their business owners."
